Lincoln University's Lawress Hall

The Orka team has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the complete design, refurbishment and project management of Lawress Hall, the home of Lincoln University’s professional services team.

This project is a significant milestone for Orka, representing our largest endeavour to date, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work on such a grand scale.

Situated within the picturesque grounds of the 220-hectare Riseholme Campus, located north of the city centre, Lawress Hall was originally constructed in 1994 as a flagship HMRC training centre. Boasting an expansive floor area of over 120,000 square feet across four floors, including substantial office spaces, Lawress Hall is set to undergo a comprehensive renovation.

A Modern Workspace Transformation

The building’s transformation will encompass all floors and rooms, resulting in a modern and functional workspace. Visitors and employees alike will be welcomed by a central reception area, while conveniently located coffee hubs will provide refreshing breaks for staff.

Tailored Workspaces and Amenities

Orka Interior is committed to assisting the university team in embracing modern working styles at Lawress Hall. We  have devised a forward-thinking strategy that incorporates contemporary elements, such as the implementation of hot desks and the creation of relaxed and comfortable workspaces for employees. The aim is to foster a flexible and inspiring environment that supports the evolving needs of the staff.

Dedicated ‘home zone’ desk spaces and storage areas will be allocated for each department, catering to their unique needs. Open collaboration areas will foster teamwork and idea-sharing, while quiet and private office spaces will provide individuals with a tranquil work environment. Additionally, Lawress Hall will feature numerous meeting rooms of various sizes, catering to a range of professional gatherings. Each level will also offer catering provisions to ensure the well-being of all occupants.

Beyond the primary workspace, Lawress Hall’s lower ground floor will see the reinstatement of its swimming pool and gym facilities.
