After the initial conversation, we'll schedule an in-person meeting to discuss the project details and timescales, take a brief, survey the space, and take photos. We will then send a cost proposal. Following our initial discussion, we will arrange an in person meeting to discuss the project specifics and timelines, conduct a brief survey of the site, and take necessary photographs. Subsequently, we will provide you with a comprehensive cost proposal.
We will put together a design presentation illustrating the scheme, complete with a detailed GA plan showing furniture layout, feature lighting placements, and decorative feature wall positions. Additionally, digital mood boards will be designed for each area along with furnishings and finishes specifications.
We will schedule a follow up meeting to discuss the proposal. From here we will make minor design amendments and discuss the next steps.
Once the proposal is approved, we will proceed to produce physical sample boards for each area, showcasing design finishes, and if necessary, generate visuals of the spaces. Following this, we will schedule an in-person meeting to thoroughly review the project with the objective of finalising and signing off on the design.
Produce detailed design drawings in CAD including lighting and electrical layouts, decoration and flooring plans, furniture specifications, and relevant joinery details. We will also create detailed specification sheets of the lighting and furniture required.
We will liaise with suppliers to provide costs and timescales for all items required to complete the scheme.
We can fully manage your project. This would include managing the relevant trades people and ensuring the project runs smoothly from start to finish.
Driven by a passion for design, Orka Interiör was founded in 2020 by Kim and Abigail, who have over 20 years combined of experience in the commercial interior sector. With a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for the art of creating spaces, our founders embarked on a mission to design interiors that seamlessly blend timeless elegance with practical functionality. Inspired by their love for vintage and mid-century furniture, Kim and Abigail set out to transform spaces of all scales and purposes, from intimate cocktail bars to expansive country houses.
At Orka Interiör, we believe that design should transcend aesthetics, embracing functionality and adaptability. Our collaborative approach ensures that each project is a true reflection of our clients’ visions and aspirations. With a diverse portfolio spanning hospitality, care, retail, and residential sectors, we take pride in our ability to create interiors that stand the test of time. I have worked in the commercial interior design sector for over 15 years and in that time, I have worked with some fantastic clients on some amazing and interesting projects. Orka Interiör, established in 2020, was born from a requirement to start creating interiors that were truly close to the types of design that I love. I have a passion for Scandinavian design, a movement that is characterised by simplicity, minimalism, and functionality, without sacrificing beauty. I also love furniture of any type, but really enjoy vintage and mid-century pieces. From a back street boozer, cocktail bar, studio apartment to a 20-bedroom manor house, we love transforming spaces and sharing our knowledge.
I have a passion for design and style in all forms and I truly believe that the aesthetics of an interior can determine its credibility. Having always had an interest in the arts I studied art and design, specialising in surface texture, and then moved onto study Commercial Interior Design at the University of Huddersfield. Since then, I have had the privilege of designing projects in the hospitality, care, retail, and residential sectors and can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every project equally. Setting up a design practice was the easiest decision; we are lucky enough to help create beautiful interiors for our clients daily.
